Thomson Develops Latin American Business

Thomson has opened a Latin American competence center in Mexico City for its network software business. Thomson’s network software comprises Cirpack voice and SmartVision video service platforms for telecom and cable operators as well as Internet service providers and broadcasters. The new regional offices, under the direction of Hatim Zougari, Latin America regional sales manager of Thomson’s network software, will offer full administration, sales and support services, with its own training facilities.

According to the company, operators in Central and South America need to increase the capacity of their existing infrastructures and Thomson’s voice platform is fully interoperable with both legacy  (TDM) and IP networks. Thomson can also help providers to easily add new services such as Fixed-Mobile Convergence and Mobile TV, to give them a competitive advantage.
