Enodis plc, the global food and beverage equipment company, today announces a further step in its expansion into the fast-growing Chinese market with the appointment of Daniel Han as Supply Chain Manager for Asia Pacific. Han will be based at Enodis's regional office in Shanghai.

This is the latest in a number of recent appointments made by Chris Karssiens, Group Managing Director for Asia Pacific, who relocated from the U.S. to Shanghai in September 2005.

These actions are part of the company's strategy to support its customers and their very substantial growth plans in China.

The foodservice market in China is estimated to be growing at 10 percent per annum. This growth rate, along with the Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2008, is attracting significant investment in new hotels and restaurants.

It is estimated that 100 four and five star hotels are under way or planned per year, with 200 scheduled for completion prior to the Olympics and 400 scheduled for completion prior to the World Expo in Shanghai 2010.

Major Enodis customers such as McDonald's, YUM! Brands, and Starbucks have all announced significant expansion plans in China.
