A Mintel report on the U.S. vending market says vending machines, as well as the products that go into them, need to change to meet the needs of the new vending growth market: offices.
Full Line Vending in the United States said the approximately $45 billion vending industry is in the midst of evolution caused by the significant reduction in the number of industrial workers, which were once the market's most-important consumers.
Vending operators are seeking new locations for machines and office environments offer much hope to the industry, the report said, but machine types as well as vended products need to reflect the smaller number of employees on site and their changing preferences. Operators, and their machines, must provide healthy yet popular products, satisfy school requirements and take advantage of improving technology and efficiency.
