Computer maker Dell Corporation appointed Donald J. Carty vice chairman and chief financial officer. Carty succeeds James M. Schneider, who will leave the company to be executive chairman of the board for Frontier Bancshares Inc. Thomas W. Luce, III, a member of Dell board of directors, will assume Carty’s duties as chairman of the board’s audit committee. Carty will continue to serve as a member of the company’s board of directors.
