Husqvarna AB has legally separated from Swedish appliance maker Electrolux AB and was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange today with the ticker HUSQ. The company consists of what was previously the Outdoor Products segment of Electrolux. Shares in Husqvarna were distributed to shareholders in Electrolux in accordance with a decision made at the Electrolux Annual Meeting in April 2006.
Husqvarna is one of the world's largest producers of chainsaws, lawn mowers and portable gas-powered garden equipment such as trimmers and blowers. Net 2005 sales amounted to SEK 28.8 billion (approx. U.S. $3.9 billion) and it has approximately 11,700 employees.
