The Dagilev nightclub, located in Moscow, hosted Gorenje's charitable auction for its Premium Touch refrigerator covered with 7,000 Swarovski crystals.

The Slovenia-based appliance maker said the refrigerator was bought for a record-breaking U.S. $110,000 by Russian millionaire Rustam Tariko, owner of the Russan Standard Company.

Funds raised at the auction were donated to the pan-Russian movement called The Circle of the Sun, which provides aid to homeless children.

Gorenje first introduced its Premium Touch refrigerators in late 2005 to the European market. Three refrigerators from the series -- including refrigerators covered in either 7,000 or 3,500 crystals, depending on the model -- have already been sold in Bucharest, Ljubljana and Moscow, with the fourth one to be sold in Belgrade shortly. A fifth one was sold in the Harrods store in downtown London.
