Wal-Mart Names New Management in Procurement and Finance

Retail giant Wal-Mart said Lawrence Jackson, president and CEO of Global Procurement, resigned from the company. Jeff Macho was promoted to senior vice president of Global Procurement, effective immediately. Macho is based in Shenzhen, China, and will report to Vice Chairman John Menzer. Jackson will stay until Feb. 9 to help in the leadership transition.

Macho has been working in the global procurement field for 13 years and joined Wal-Mart in 2005 as vice president and managing director of apparel merchandising in Global Procurement.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Bentonville, Arkansas, U.S.) also promoted Senior Vice President, Finance Charles Holley executive vice president, finance and treasurer. Holley reports to Tom Schoewe, executive vice president and chief financial officer, and will continue to oversee finance, tax and investor relations and will take on additional responsibility for treasury. Jay Fitzsimmons, currently senior vice president, treasurer, will retire Jan. 31, 2007.

In addition, Steve Whaley was promoted from vice president, controller to senior vice president, controller, and will serve as principal accounting officer, reporting to Schoewe.
