Rheem's Former VP, Chief Operating Officer Named President, CEO

HVAC maker Rheem Manufacturing Company announced that Ian Stewart Farwell has accepted the position of president and CEO. He succeeds Scott D. Martin, who recently left Rheem to pursue other business opportunities.

A veteran of nearly 30 years with Rheem, Farwell has held a variety of key management posts for the firm, including general manager of Rheem Canada, president of the Water Heating Division and president of the Air Conditioning Division. He became executive vice president and chief operating officer of Rheem Manufacturing in 2002 before retiring last summer.

Farwell has also been an active volunteer in a variety of industry trade groups, having served as chairman of the Canadian Gas Association and as a director of both the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. He is also a past chairman of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association.
