Samsung unveiled the first in the upcoming series of Samsung's ultra slim phones. The Samsung X820 boasts the world's thinnest profile of only 6.9 mm. Samsung's D900 is the world’s slimmest slider with the depth of 13 mm.

A fiberglass-infused plastic is used for the X820, to increase durability while keeping the device lightweight at only 66 g. Components are compressed into the 6.9 mm depth using Smart Surface Mounting Technology (SSMT). The unit has a 2 megapixel camera, document viewer and TV-output function. The X820 will launch on the Russian market next month, followed by other European markets.

The SGH-D900 has a 3.13 megapixel camera and includes business features such as document viewer, TV-output and Bluetooth stereo headset (A2DP). An external microSD(TM) slot allows for additional storage.
