Consumer electronics maker Sanyo Electric Co. announced that former presidents Sadao Kondo, vice chairman, and Yukinori Kuwano, senior advisor, resigned from the company's board of directors to assume responsibility for deterioration in
the company's business performance. Kondo and Kuwano have assumed the posts of part-time
advisor.

The Robotic Industries Association named Trevor Jones, director of OEM Business Development of Thermo Electron Corporation's Laboratory Automation and Integration Business, as president. Jones co-founded CRS Robotics in 1983, which was then acquired by Thermo Electron Corporation in 2002. He succeeds Ak,Sanyo Electric Coe Lindqvist, group vice president, Robotic Products and Automation N.A. of ABB, Inc., who served as RIA president for the 2004 and 2005 terms. Lindqvist remains on the RIA board as past president.
