Zero Zone, Inc. has been acquired in a management-led buyout backed by a local Milwaukee investment group. The sale took effect Feb. 24, 2006 and makes Zero Zone once again a privately held company. Terms were not disclosed.
Zero Zone manufactures refrigerated display case equipment for supermarkets and other commercial uses. The company is based in North Prairie, Wisconsin, U.S. It has plants in North Prairie and Genesee, Wisconsin, as well as Ramsey, Minnesota, U.S.
The Zero Zone management team will remain in place, including: Jack Van Der Ploeg, chairman and CEO; Dave Morrow, president; John Duimstra, chief financial officer; and Steve Esslinger, vice president of operations.
"We see the acquisition as a very positive development for Zero Zone," said Van Der Ploeg, "and view this as a solid opportunity to further strengthen our market position and grow our business, both in refrigeration equipment and refrigeration systems."
