Iraq's al-Mansoor State Company for Construction is manufacturing household appliances powered by solar energy, including refrigerators, air-coolers and heaters.
The company is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and is one of the largest Iraqi state-run corporations. In addition to construction, white goods manufacturing is a core activity of the company.
The company manufactures the solar units entirely in-country and is said to be prepared to produce the appliances for sales to both private and public sectors. The company is also making solar-powered traffic lights for the Interior Ministry, a source said. (Azzaman)
