Carrier Dealer Convention Unveils New Era in Energy Efficiency Feb 13, 2006

Committed to providing innovative and energy efficient products, designs and service to the air conditioning and heating industry, Carrier Corporation, a unit of United Technologies Corp.,unveiled its newly redesigned line of heat pumps and air conditioners at Power2006, its national dealer convention at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 3-day convention took place from Jan. 24-26 with 7,000 dealers in attendance.

Keynote speaker and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong inspired the audience with his story about harnessing his inner power to reach excellence and overcome obstacles, including cancer.

The convention culminated in tradeshows on Wednesday and Thursday, where attendees were invited to walk from booth to booth to get the latest information on Carrier's line of heating and cooling products and its indoor air quality products.

The launch of Carrier's redesigned line coincided with the 13 SEER mandate. Carrier celebrated this new standard at the convention with the product launch to support its dealers with information and tools for a smooth transition.

"Energy efficiency will always be a critical issue, and a priority for Carrier," said Halsey Cook, president, Carrier Residential and Light Commercial. "As more consumers begin to reap the rewards of 13 SEER, though, they're bound to ask, 'What's next?' That's why Carrier is continually pushing the envelope on product innovation, to concentrate on areas like indoor air quality, comfort zoning and even remote system controls through our Infinity System."
