Home improvement retail giant Home Depot has officially announced it will be opening on Guam by next year.
Home Depot officials said there are plans for a 135,000 square-foot facility to be located off of Airport Road near the Mai’ana Airport Hotel.
Home Depot may employ about 200 employees locally, including management, said Kimberly Sentovich, regional vice president for the western division.
Governor Felix Camacho has instructed the directors of the Department of Public Works and the Department of Revenue and Taxation to help Home Depot representatives with regulatory processes.
Sentovich said along with a variety of products, Home Depot hopes to offer how-to classes for do-it-yourselfers.
Sentovich said Home Depot hopes to open by the end of this year, but will most likely be completed by 2007. (Pacific Daily News)
