Hewlett-Packard Plans to Cut 200 Jobs in Finland Feb 8, 2006

Hewlett-Packard has announced that it will start personnel negotiations in Finland. The negotiations affect 200 employees. At the moment, Hewlett-Packard employs approximately 1,000 people in Finland. The target is to complete the negotiations by the end of March 2006.

Part of the personnel arrangements will be achieved through transfer of business. In practice, the company will outsource part of its service businesses.

As outlined by HP's President and CEO, Mark Hurd, in autumn 2005, the company will simplify its organization, cut overlapping processes and start making use of its centralized resources. The Finnish organization of HP will also increase its use of HP's service centers. (eFinland.com)
