Applica Board Member Retires Feb 1, 2006

Electric housewares maker Applica Incorporated announced that Felix Sabates has resigned as a member of the board of directors of the company, effective immediately.

Sabates has served as a member of the board since 1991. Applica said the vacated seat will remain empty for the time being.

"On behalf of the board of directors, we would like to express our appreciation to Felix for his efforts on behalf of the company over the past 14 years," said Harry D. Schulman, chairman and CEO. "We wish him the best of luck and thank him for his many years of service."
