Appliance and consumer electronics maker LG Electronics introduced the company's first range offering for the U.S. market. According to the company, the new LG electric range completes the company's "full-kitchen" portfolio, which includes dishwashers, refrigerators and microwave ovens.
"The availability of the LG Range completes our 'full-kitchen' offering and reinforces LG's commitment to delivering premium, high-performance home appliances," said Teddy Hwang, president of Digital Appliances for LG Electronics, U.S.A. "The availability of our full-kitchen is another LG milestone as we drive to deliver advanced functionality and define the future of the home appliance industry."
The new LG Range features a 5.6-cubic-foot capacity and fits in the standard 30-inch footprint. Additionally, the electric range is available in a variety of finishes and features a blue interior cavity that is said to enhance the unit's premium feel.
In addition the range features an advanced convection system called EvenJet Plus(TM) that reportedly distributes air evenly throughout the oven for better cooking performance; expandable heating elements from 6 inches to 12 inches to accommodate different sized pots and pans; an IntuiTouch(TM) Digital Control, a reported easy to navigate control system that groups cook top and oven functions in a logical, user-friendly format; a warming or storage drawer option; and a True color glass-top surface for easy cleaning.
Set for retail in the first quarter of 2006, the LG Range is available in a variety of finishes, including smooth white, smooth black and stainless steel, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from U.S. $999 to $1,399.
