U.S. consumer magazine Good Housekeeping named iRobot co-founder and Chairman Helen Greiner "Entrepreneur of the Year." Greiner accepted the award yesterday at Good Housekeeping's 11th annual "Good Buy" Awards Ceremony, honoring groundbreaking technology and innovation in helping make consumers' lives easier.
Greiner was selected for her leadership role at iRobot Corp. (Burlington, Massachusetts, U.S.), and in recognition of the company's iRobot Roomba(R) Vacuuming Robot, which was awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal. The magazine said Roomba is a unique and successful product that solves a common household problem related to family and women. iRobot has sold more than 1.5 million Roomba Vacuuming Robots since its introduction in 2002.
"Helen's creativity and consumer-savvy leadership have helped improve the lives of our readers and their families," said Ellen Levine, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping. "We applaud her for bringing consumers a product that delivers ingenuity, value and exceptional performance."
