Samsung Develops Largest Flexible LCD Nov 29, 2005

The conventional TFT LCD uses glass substrates whereas the latest display features a substrate of flexible plastic, which makes it flexible. The seven-inch or 640 mm by 480 mm flexible display uses a transparent plastic substrate that is thinner, lighter and more durable than the conventional LCD glass panels currently in use. Samsung has deployed a low-temperature manufacturing process for thin film transistors.

Samsung's TFT LCD also features a 40 percent Aperture Ratio, 100 nit brightness and color saturation of 60 percent (of NTSC). (EFY Times)
