Canon Marketing Malaysia expects the entry of its DC10 and DC20 DVD camcorders to expand the company's share in the digital video camcorders market in Malaysia.
Both camcorders are projected to raise its market share in digital video camcorders to 15 percent by the first quarter of 2006 from its current 10 percent. Globally, Canon controls 20 percent of the digital video market.
In a statement, the company said the DC10 and DC20 are the world's smallest and slimmest in the 1.3 to 2.2 mega pixel range respectively.
"By aggressively offering consumers with options to store and share high quality images and movies in either mini DV or DVD format, we are covering our bases in this lucrative market segment," president and CEO of Canon Marketing Malaysia, Liew Sip Chon, said.
The camcorders offer advanced photo features, video-editing features, fast file transfers, and the ability to share images via DVD storage media format. (Business Times)
