Epson had Largest Share in Q2 for the Taiwan Market Nov 11, 2005

There were about 10,100 color laser printers sold in the Taiwan market during the second quarter of this year and Epson replaced Hewlett-Packard (HP) as having the largest market share of 41.2 percent for color laser printers, according to IDC Taiwan.

During the first half of this year, the Taiwan market recorded sales of 19,400 color laser printers and 63,700 monochrome laser printers, IDC Taiwan pointed out. The sales volume for color models this year is projected to be 40,600 printers.

In related news, Epson Taiwan Technology & Trading, Epson’s Taiwan subsidiary, on Nov. 10 introduced a printing management server. An Epson AcuLaser color laser printer equipped with the server is able to integrate printing resources in an office so as to minimize printing expenditures. The company aims to sell 6,000 such AcuLaser series printers next year. (DigiTimes)
