Chinese Appliances at Cuban Expo Nov 4, 2005

Shenyang Double Happiness, a Chinese appliance producer, is among the exhibitors this week at the 23rd Havana International Fair in Cuba, according to an AIN report. The fair ends November 6.

Shenyang Double Happiness Pressure Cookers General Corp.'s predecessor company was formed in 1956 and today has its main production facility in Shenyang, where it manufactures electric housewares on 12 production lines. Another plant, in Zhuhai makes pressure cookers and other cooking appliances with an annual capacity of 3 million units. The Zhuhai facility is also engaged in aluminum sheet materials processing, R&D and software development, and technical consulting.

Shenyang Double Happiness president Jiang Tin'en said in the report that he hopes the company will become a major supplier of appliances to the Cuban market. Its rice cookers and electric stoves are already distributed throughout Cuba. It offers about 300 appliance models sold in 50 countries.
