Home Depot Canada will create 1,300 jobs across the country as it opens 11 new big-box home hardware stores before the end of the year. The home improvement retailer said its expansion will be completed by January.

"We've been busy recruiting and training the most knowledgeable associates in each of these communities, to ensure that our customers will receive the kind of service we're known for," CEO Annette Verschuren said.

Home Depot Canada operates 126 stores and employs more than 26,000 people across Canada. (CBC Business News)
