Sears Holdings executives traveled to Kinston, North Carolina, U.S. to present the Partners in Progress program award to associates at Electrolux’s Dishwasher Products factory in Kinston.
Electrolux won the award for the dishwasher category through excellence in quality, innovation, overall market performance, and diversity. Winners were selected from nominations submitted by Sears employees who purchase goods and services for the retailer. Of the more than 10,000 Sears suppliers that compete annually for recognition in the program, less than 150 receive the awards.
A ceremony at the factory was attended by Kinston employees and was followed by a celebratory lunch. Carrie Smith, senior buyer for Sears, presented the Partners in Progress award to J.C. Guetter, Electrolux vice president for dishwashers, and Phil Hilling, Kinston plant manager.
The Partners in Progress award for the Kinston facility was one of nine Sears awards received by Electrolux in the 2004 program. Electrolux was also selected as the winner of the Supplier of the Year award for all hardlines, as well as the Category Award for major appliances.
The company was also recognized with Partners in Progress recognition for:
appliance parts and service
Category Award for Home Services – Quality
PIP recognition for lawn mowers, handheld outdoor specialty power equipment and outdoor products parts and service
Electrolux human resources director Glenda Lynch also presented special awards at the ceremony to associates who participated in recent contests at the factory including, "Draw Your Dream Dishwasher," "Safety" and "Guess the Growth."
