Robotic floor care maker iRobot Corp. announced its latest robot, the iRobot Roomba(R) Scheduler, is now available to customers in Canada. Roomba Scheduler features a built-in scheduling system and remote control that allows users to set a custom cleaning schedule, up to 7 days a week.

In addition, the company has expanded its retail presence in Canada, signing five national retail chains to carry its Roomba Vacuuming Robots at Home Outfitters, The Brick, The Source, Future Shops and Sears Canada.

"Since introducing Roomba in Canada last year, we have had a great response from consumers who are eager to automate tedious housework," said Greg White, executive vice president and general manager, iRobot Consumer Robots. "With Roomba Scheduler, Canadians can now automatically have a cleaner home on a set schedule."

According to the company. Roomba Scheduler can be programmed to vacuum every day. Once a cleaning timetable has been set, the remote is used to beam the schedule wirelessly, via IR technology, to the Roomba.

The Roomba Scheduler uses Aware(TM) technology, iRobot's unique Robot Intelligence Systems in addition to a Dirt Detect(TM) feature that is said to sense particularly dirty areas and automatically increases cleaning intensity. The unit also includes a self-charging Home Base(TM), where the vacuum automatically drives itself when the battery is low for recharging.
