Medtronic Names Senior Vice President, President Of Neurological Businesses Sep 27, 2005

Medtronic, Inc. announced the appointment of Dr. Richard Kuntz as senior vice president and president leading the company's Neurological, Gastroenterology and Urology and Obesity Management businesses, effective October 10. Kuntz also will serve as a member of the Medtronic executive and operating committees, reporting to Medtronic president and chief operating officer Bill Hawkins.

Kuntz joins Medtronic from the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he serves as an interventional cardiologist and chief of the Division of Clinical Biometrics. In addition, Kuntz currently serves as the chief scientific officer of the Harvard Clinical Research Institute, a university-based contract research organization that has coordinated National Institutes of Health and industry clinical trials with FDA.
