Wal-Mart Closes 64 Stores In Rita's Path

Wal-Mart, the world's biggest retail chain, has shuttered 64 stores and distribution facilities that are located in the possible path of Hurricane Rita. The retailer said more than 100 of its facilities are inside the 120-mile radius where Rita is projected to make landfall.

As of 8 AM CST, Rita is on-target to hit the U.S. Gulf Coast near Port Arthur, Texas, close to the Louisiana border. Rita is classified as a category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 140 miles per hour. Moving northwest at about 9 mph, Rita is expected to make landfall in the early hours on Saturday.
