Salton Postpones Today's Conference Call Sep 14, 2005

Electric housewares maker Salton said this morning it is postponing the conference call that was originally scheduled for 9 AM ET this morning.

Salton, Inc., of Lake Forest, Illinois, U.S., originally scheduled the conference call to discuss fourth quarter and year-end results.

Salton says the delay comes in light of its recent private debt exchange offer and recent agreement to sell its 52.6-percent ownership interest in Amalgamated Appliance Holdings Limited (AMAP). This includes the requirement that it prepare pro forma financials relating to the transactions. Salton is delaying the filing of its Form 10-K for up to 15 days, it says, as permitted by SEC rules. Salton expects to file its Form 10-K and reschedule its conference call on fourth quarter and year-end results prior to September 30, 2005.

Salton announced in late August that agreed to sell its ownership interest in AMAP to a group of investors led by Interactive Capital (Proprietary) Limited. AMAP will continue to license and sell Salton's George Foreman®, Russel Hobbs® and Carmen® branded products in South Africa.
