Panasonic Introduces "Smart," Bagless Vacuum Aug 19, 2005

Floor care maker Panasonic introduced its new upright, bagless vacuum, the Panasonic MC-V7720.

The new vacuum features an infrared dirt sensor and automatic Power-On-Demand technology, that is said to sense how much dust and dirt is being picked up and will automatically adjust suction power accordingly. Panasonic says users can choose the Power-On-Demand feature to automatically deliver the most efficient level of suction power needed or select from three manual power levels to clean of carpets and rugs, bare floor surfaces, upholstery, drapes or stairs.

"Panasonic's new bagless vacuum cleaner not only allows users to vacuum 'smart', but is amazingly quiet for a vacuum this powerful," says William Soderberg, national marketing manager for Panasonic.

According to Panasonic, the vacuum features a large-capacity, removable dust container and a HEPA filter in addition to an on-board tool caddy that holds a dusting brush, floor brush, crevice tool and air-powered turbine brush. The unit also comes with a stretch hose, telescoping wands that reach up to 17 feet and a 30-foot power cord.

The MC-V7720 vacuum cleaner has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of U.S. $299.95.
