ViewSonic recently cut the price on one of its 32-in LCD TVs to NT $39,900 (approx. U.S. $1,250) down from NT $49,900 (approx. $1,564) in the Taiwan market, according to the company. The 32-in LCD model features a 16:9 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1366 by 768. It has a brightness of 500 nits, a contrast ratio of 800:1 and a response time of 12 ms, according to ViewSonic.
The move helps ViewSonic bring its prices in line with other Taiwan-based vendors as 32-in LCD TVs offered by Tatung and Teco Electric & Machinery are also priced at NT $39,900 (approx. $1,250).
Teco also produces 32-in LCD TVs for ViewSonic, though Teco manufactured models are marketed in U.S. and Europe. ViewSonic 32-in LCD TVs sold in the Asia-Pacific region are made by Sampo Technology, according to a report in the Chinese-language Economic Daily News.
In May, ViewSonic placed 37-in LCD TV and 40-in LCD TV orders with Teco and the new shipments are expected to begin next month. (DigiTimes)
