Broan-NuTone, a maker of ventilation hoods, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), Hackettstown, N.J., have teamed up for the third year to sponsor “The Best(R) Kitchen Design Competition,” according to Clement Feng, vice president of marketing, Broan-NuTone.
A total of U.S. $40,000 in cash, scholarships, and travel will be awarded to professional and student kitchen designers who incorporate proper kitchen ventilation into their designs utilizing the Best by Broan(R) kitchen ventilation product line.
NKBA professional members, kitchen designers, NKBA student members, or student designers enrolled in accredited colleges or universities in the U.S. and Canada are eligible to enter the competition. Professional designer entrants must have installed a Best by Broan kitchen ventilation product into either a new construction or remodeled kitchen between Jan. 1, 2004 and Nov. 30, 2005. Student entrants must submit a kitchen design that incorporates a Best by Broan product.
The competition includes three categories: a wall-mounted ventilation, an island/peninsula ventilation, and a custom-designed hood incorporating a Best by Broan ventilation product.
Judging will include representatives from NKBA, Broan-NuTone, and leading Certified Kitchen Designers. The criteria for the competition evaluation and judging will include: visual appeal, creatively incorporating Best by Broan kitchen ventilation products, elements, and design and ventilation principles.
Grand prize winners will be announced, and their winning designs unveiled at the 2006 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago, IL, U.S. on April 21-23, 2006.
