Personal care appliance maker Helen of Troy Limited announced the appointment of Adolpho R. Telles to the company's board of directors, succeeding Director James C. Swaim.
Mr. Telles is a Certified Public Accountant and since November 2003, a business consultant providing advisory services to entities in the area of corporate governance, internal auditing, and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Previously, Mr. Telles was a partner with the accounting firm of KPMG LLP, and its predecessors for more than 16 years.
James C. Swaim, who has served on the company's board of directors since August 2004, recently accepted the position of executive vice president/CFO with Hillwood Development Corporation, a Dallas, TX, U.S.-based real estate development company. Due to time commitments of his new position, Mr. Swaim has decided to resign from the company's board.
