Range hood manufacturer Vent-A-Hood announced that it has completed construction of a 50,000 sq-ft plant expansion at the company’s corporate headquarters in Richardson, TX, U.S. Operations will be phased into the addition over the next few months while maintaining peak production levels and will allow for increased manufacturing design and efficiency of the company’s signature products, the company said.
"We’ve added some much needed space to meet the high demand for our range hoods and proprietary engineering," said Blake Woodall, director of Sales for Vent-A-Hood.
The plant’s expansion features a 250-ton straight side press with feeder system that will utilize the latest technology in Vent-A-Hood’s manufacturing process of high-volume inventory. The addition also includes a state-of-the-art classroom facility where Vent-A-Hood’s "Basic Fundamentals of Cooking Ventilation" training program will educate distributors, dealers, and kitchen designers.
Finally, the addition will feature a high-end showroom of the company’s designs in a series of kitchen vignettes. The museum-like room incorporates a wall of glass that welcomes visitors into the showroom from a reception area, where the hoods will be displayed like pieces of fine art.
The company said the need for the plant expansion and much of the company’s growth has been attributed to the growing popularity of Vent-A-Hood’s patented Magic Lung(R) a filterless centrifugal blower.
