Brillian Announces Partnership to Manufacture HDTVs Apr 18, 2005

In a move designed to ramp its manufacturing capacity, Brillian Corp. announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Suntron Corp., a leading provider of integrated manufacturing services and solutions, to source and build Brillian high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and build proprietary Brillian Light Engines.

Under terms of the agreement, volume production of Brillian's large screen rear-projection HDTVs is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2005.

"This is a winning partnership for both companies," said Vincent F. Sollitto Jr., Brillian president and CEO. "Given Suntron's extensive management experience in building large screen TVs as well as a full year of current manufacturing experience with us, we are confident Suntron understands the depth and breadth of our technology. This manufacturing partnership cements our immediate strategy to catapult customer wins and revenue growth."

Suntron will assume all supply chain management of Brillian's TVs, as well as support the expansion to volume production. Suntron's plan includes ramped capacity of 1,000 per month in the fourth quarter of 2005 and 3,000 a month by 2006. To achieve this goal, Suntron plans to draw on the development, manufacturing and test capabilities of multiple Suntron sites.
