South Korea's LG Electronics has agreed to build a second plant for producing television sets in central Poland.

Under the deal, worth 85 million euros (approx. U.S. $110 million), LG Electronics will construct a new plant next to its existing facility in the city of Mlawa by 2010. The new facility is to raise production from the current 1.5 million digital TV sets per year to 6 million, the company said.

The new plant will offer more than 2,100 jobs and with subcontractors will employ about 5,000 people. (The Associate Press)
