Gillette Co. will close a Duracell plant, resulting in charges of about U.S. $0.04 a share in fiscal 2005, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Gillette, based in Boston, MA, U.S., said it would record an initial charge of worth about $0.01 cent share in the first quarter in connection with the decision.
The plant is located in Lexington, NC, U.S. and primarily makes high-power lithium batteries. The lithium products are seeing significant decreases in demand amid the growing popularity of rechargeable batteries, the razor, oral care, and battery maker said. (MarketWatch)
