Sony held onto the top spot in South Korea's offline digital camera market in the first quarter of this year, according to market survey specialist Gfk.
A total of 15,339 digital cameras made by the firm were sold during the 3-month period, equaling a 19.2-percent market share, Gfk said.
Nikon came next with 14,104 (17.7 percent), trailed by Canon with 11,446 (14.3 percent), Samsung Techwin with 9,649 (11.8 percent), and Olympus with 9,424 (11.8 percent).
In terms of sales amount, Sony came first with 20.1 percent of the total, followed by Canon at 19.2 percent, Nikon at 16.8 percent, Samsung at 12.4 percent and Olympus at 11.7 percent, Gfk reported.
It was Sony's fourth consecutive time in first place since the second quarter of last year. (Asia Pulse, Yonhap)
