Siemens Corporation named Paul A. Camuti, 43, president and CEO of Siemens Corporate Research effective immediately. With headquarters in Princeton, NJ, U.S., Mr. Camuti will be responsible for overseeing the company's U.S. research division, which is developing innovations in medical imaging, intelligent decision support, security and safety, maintenance and service, industrial automation, multimedia networks, e-business, user-centered software, and other areas of primary focus to Siemens' businesses.
"Innovation is a key pillar in our U.S. growth strategy, and Paul has successfully demonstrated how to align innovation with the needs of our customers and resources and competencies within Siemens," said George Nolen, president and CEO of Siemens Corporation.
Prior to joining Siemens Corporate Research, Mr. Camuti held a variety of positions in R&D, sales, marketing, and industry planning with Siemens Energy & Automation (SE&A). Most recently, he was vice president of the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry Business in Spring House, PA, U.S. and general manager of the Process Automation Systems business with responsibility for product strategies, R&D, support, and global distribution.
Mr. Camuti began his career at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he also held senior management positions in the areas of industrial automation, building automation, and factory automation systems. Mr. Camuti has a Bachelor's degree in science from Lehigh University.
