International Housewares Show to Retain 3-Day Format Apr 6, 2005

The International Home & Housewares Show will remain a 3-day show in 2006, scheduled for March 12-14 in Chicago, IL, U.S. The International Housewares Association (IHA) previously announced that the show would expand to 4 days to include Wednesday, March 15.

"There is a very clear calling from certain retail and exhibitor segments for extending the show pattern, and clearly there is a calling not to make that change as well," said Phil Brandl, president of IHA, the show's not-for-profit sponsor. "Until such time that we can work the logistics of the show to accommodate those customer segments, IHA's board of directors has decided to defer the 4-day extension and retain the 3-day pattern."

According to Douglas J. Bradshaw, IHA board chairman and chairman of Bradshaw International, Inc., the board evaluated both the positive and negative possibilities of extending the show. "There are numerous fundamentally sound reasons for extending the pattern, but at the end of the day, the board will listen to our membership at large."
