Whirlpool Corporation announced that it has been named one of the top 100 employers by Black Collegian Magazine. This is the second consecutive year Whirlpool has been named to the list.
Black Collegian Magazine is a career and self-development magazine targeted to African American students seeking information on careers, job opportunities, graduate and professional schools, internships, and study abroad programs.
The publication's top employer list is based on an annual survey conducted by Dr. Philip Gardner, director of Collegiate Employment Research at Michigan State University. It focuses on hiring projections of America's largest employers. Other companies included on the 2004 list include Abbott Laboratories, Accenture, Bank of America, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Proctor & Gamble, the United States Air Force, and Wachovia Corporation.
"Whirlpool is honored to be recognized as one of the top 100 employers for the second year in a row," said Kristen Weirick, manager, Employer Brand for Whirlpool Corp. "Diversity has long been one of our core values and we believe strongly in hiring talented college graduates from all backgrounds."
