Inventec Launches Slide Phone in Taiwan Mar 25, 2005

Inventec Appliances, a Taiwan-based own-brand handset vendor, launched its OKWAP A236 slide phone in Taiwan. The phone, which weighs just 80 grams, features both write and voice authenticating functions.

With the introduction of the new slide phone, the company expects it handset shipments to total 60,000 units in March 2005 alone, and cumulate to 200,000 units for the first quarter of 2005. The slide phone is growing in popularity in Taiwan and is expected to hold around a 20 percent market share by year-end. (Digitimes.com)
