Electrolux Ranks Among Top AC Brands in India Mar 25, 2005

Electrolux India, a new entrant in air-conditioner (AC) segment, topped the sales in 1-ton and 0.75-ton capacity split ACs by more than 40 percent in January 2005, according to ORG-Marg data.

The company has made a mark in the category by being rated among the top five brands within less than a year. Within a short duration of 10 months, it has captured almost 6-percent market share in the overall air-conditioner category, said ORG-Marg.

"The sales have been beyond expectations and this has also injected a positive sentiment in the trade," Sanjeev Wadhwa, Electrolux India general manager, Consumer and Trade Marketing, said.

He said the company's price warrior models have received an extremely positive response, and "we are hopeful that air conditioners will contribute to almost 10-15 per cent of revenues in 2005-06."

In April 2004, Electrolux India forayed in the category with the launch of its 'Oxigen' range of Air Conditioners. (Sify.com)
