Sears, Roebuck and Co. announced that comparable domestic store revenues increased 1.3 percent for the four weeks ended Feb. 26, 2005. Total domestic store revenues were U.S. $1.78 billion for the four-week period in February 2005, up 2.2 percent compared with the four weeks ended Feb. 28, 2004.
"We were pleased with our February sales results," said Sears Chairman and CEO Alan J. Lacy. "Home appliances and automotive continued their positive momentum and most categories within apparel performed well, with particularly strong improvement in women's ready-to-wear."
Specialty retail sales also improved in February, with The Great Indoors, Dealer Stores, Sears Hardware, and Orchard Supply reporting strong revenue growth.
