IBM to Launch Innovation Centers in Brazil, China, Russia Feb 15, 2005

Business appliance maker IBM announced plans to open new Innovation Centers in China, Brazil, and Russia.

The centers, according to the company, will serve as resources to local venture capital firms, developers, systems integrators, and software vendors by providing them with access to IBM products and technical information.

The computer vendor already operates 25 such centers worldwide, and presently has operations in Shanghai, Sao Paulo, and Moscow. More than 12 new centers will eventually be opened, the company said.

Sales of IBM products grew by more than 25 percent last year in China, Russia, and India, totaling more than U.S. $4 billion, according to the company. (InfoWorld)
