Turkish household durables producer Arçelik projects a 20-percent growth in combined sales at home and abroad this year, general manager Gündüz Özdemir was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency.
Mr. Özdemir said Arçelik was aiming for 3 billion euros (approx. U.S. $3.8 billion) in sales by the end of 2005.
The appliance company is planning to inaugurate large stores in three big cities, namely Istanbul, Iÿzmir, and Ankara this year. Mr. Özdemir said current efforts were concentrated on identifying convenient places to hire. The stores will feature a variety of goods, including furniture, rugs, home textiles, electronics, kitchen, and illumination equipment. (Turkish Daily News)
