The Chicago Athenaeum's 2004 Good Design Award selected Siemens' line of home appliances to be recognized for significantly advancing the field of product design.
Siemens, a division of BSH Home Appliances Corporation, received five Good Design Awards for its new and innovative product designs of its cooking, laundry, and dishwasher products. International juries in North America and Europe choose the winners each year.
Siemens received Good Design awards for its ultraSense plus(TM) washer and dryer, Siemens xTronic(TM) Electric and gas range, and dishwasher with fully concealed controls.
"The Good Design award is a unique honor as excellent aesthetics are at the core of Siemens home appliances," said Michael Bohn, director of Brand Marketing for Siemens.
Siemens was awarded for the following products:
Siemens Dishwasher featuring fully concealed controls and soundCheck(TM) technology for a quiet wash cycle.
Siemens ultraSense plus(TM) washing machine with threeD surround wash and 15 tailored wash cycles enable users to effectively and safely wash an extended range of fabrics, including silk, mohair and active wear.
Siemens ultraSense plus(TM) clothes dryer with dynaSensor(TM) technology automatically monitors moisture content and temperature levels to avoid over drying. The antiCrease(TM) feature provides intermittent tumbling of clothes for up to 3 hours after completion of cycle to minimize wrinkles and reduce ironing time.
Siemens xTronic(TM) electric convection range features threeD surround convection cooking(TM) and 10 pre-programmed cooking modes.
Siemens xTronic(TM) Free-Standing Gas Range with diaLogic(TM) oven control features touch and dial programming and is equipped with an xxL oven cavity(TM) and a warming drawer.
