Swedish appliance maker Electrolux is looking for a place to build the company's second plant in Russia after its first, a 9-million euro (approx. U.S. $11.7-million) washing machine factory, will open in St. Petersburg this summer.

The St. Petersburg plant will have a production capacity of 300,000 washing machines per year and will make machines under the Electrolux and Zanussi brands.

Hans Straberg, president of Electrolux, said the company is still choosing the location for the second Russian plant. "The company management has not yet made a decision in regards to the size and location of the new plant," he said in an Interfax report. (St. Petersburg Times)
