LG Electronics plans to increase its sales in China by 50 percent year-on-year to U.S. $15 billion this year. The company said it was aiming for the top of the Chinese plasma display panel and handset markets to earn $15 billion in sales in the world's most populous country.
In order to achieve the target, the Korean company is focusing on five areas, including sustained growth of the handset and IT sectors and hiring and nurturing competent Chinese staff.
LG will raise sales of liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors larger than 17 in by more than 50 percent and stimulate sales of MP3 players and laptop computers in the Chinese market. It said it will also continuously unveil premium home appliances like refrigerators and washing machines, which are already popular in the Chinese market, to maintain its market share. The company plans to increase the proportion of home appliances to more than half of total sales. (english.chosun.com)
