The International Pool & Spa Expo, a pool, spa, and backyard living trade show and conference, reported a 20-percent increase in attendance at this year’s event, held Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV, U.S.
Final verified attendance figures indicate there were 15,733 attendees, compared to 13,156 at the 2003 event in New Orleans. Attendees came from all segments of the pool, spa, hot tub, and backyard living industry, including residential and commercial builders, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, installers, subcontractors, and service technicians. Attendees represented all U.S. states and 62 countries from around the world, including Canada, Mexico, Australia, Hungary, Italy, Japan, and the UK.
"We are thrilled about the 2004 International Pool & Spa Expo being one of the largest events ever in terms of attendees and exhibits," said Rick McConnell, senior show director.
The exhibit floor also saw a significant increase in the number of exhibiting companies, booths, and net square feet this year. The exhibit hall, with 2,578 booths in 257,808 net sq ft, featured the latest ideas in pools, spas, hot tubs, water features, casual furniture, pumps and heaters, lighting, accessories, décor for landscape, hearth, and grills.
Next year's International Pool & Spa Expo will be held on Nov. 1-3 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, U.S. The event will be held side-by-side with the Backyard Living Expo, a dedicated exhibit area of 25,000 net sq ft featuring barbecue grills, casual furniture, decking, fencing, and landscape products.
