BSH Offers Manufacturer-Direct Purchasing for Southeastern U.S. Jan 4, 2005

BSH Home Appliances Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate GmbH of Munich, Germany, announced that independent appliance dealers in the Southeastern United States may now purchase Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau appliances directly from BSH.

Prior to the announcement, Hadco was the exclusive source of BSH product for independent dealers in that region. Hadco will now transition into serving as a "non-exclusive" distributor, meaning that customers may buy BSH product from either BSH or Hadco.

"Over the past several months, BSH has introduced many exciting new products and we are experiencing significant growth," stated BSH President & CEO Franz J. Bosshard. "We want to provide home appliance dealers in the Southeast with direct access to BSH, and offer them the manufacturer-direct benefits."

The move complies with the terms of an earlier agreement between BSH and Hadco, where BSH acquired Hadco Northeastern U.S. operations, according to Mr. Bosshard. The terms of that agreement are confidential.

"The circumstances leading to our decision to offer direct access in the region are unique," Mr. Bosshard emphasized. "We value our distributors and will continue to support them vigorously. This move is unrelated to, and does not affect, any other BSH distributor."
